Supper tonight is beef lentil vegetable soup and being its (only) that...........
I thought I would make a simple dessert to go with it.
That darn soup took me all day to make..... for something so simple its a long process this loaf recipe took all of 10 minutes to do.
I will get the ohhhhs and ahhhhs when they taste everything I am sure.
Real fall cooking!

Here is the recipe I found it on a blog called My Baking Addiction
I changed only one thing .... no chocolate chips instead I added chopped walnuts.
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
adapted from allrecipes

Ingredients
3 cups white sugar
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup water
4 eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips * I changed this to chopped walnuts

Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) grease and flour three 9x5 inch loaf pans. (I used 2 9x5 loaf pans and 4 mini pans)
2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, pumpkin, oil, water, vanilla and eggs. Beat until smooth. Blend in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips.
3. Bake for 1 hour, or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Cool on wire racks before removing from cans or pans.

The Cinnamon Honey Butter Recipe

1 tbsp cinnamon
I grate in some nutmeg
1/4 cup of honey

Beat it till fluffy keep in a small container.

Hello There!!!

Yes ~~~my bad its been a while since I have blogged.
So many things to do so little time....
I travelled quite a bit in the last while, I went to see my daughter of course, and we took a little side trip to the US, New York State to be exact, we had a great shopping day,I enjoyed that sooo much.
Until we got to the border to cross back into Canada, they held us up for almost 3 hours cars were lined up for miles.
I went to visit my brother in law and his wife in Burlington ,also went to see a concert in Toronto.
I have been playing with my crafts, here are a few pictures to show you.
One is a pillow I gave my daughter, its called Grandma's Garden, it was made with little pieces of paper cut into hexagon shapes, then sewn up,I have enough flowers for a quilt as well I just don't know if my hands will let me as I discovered it very painful to do repeatedly.
I just may add a flower or two a day instead of doing massive amounts all at once, anyone else have that problem?
I did embroidery in black thread in between to show off the flowers,Do you like it?
My attempt try at something like this.

Also I made her a table runner in blue hues, took me quite a while to make all the yoyo's and then I crochet them together with blue cotton thread.

My daughter thinks the world of anything I make her and treasures it.That alone makes me smile and makes it worth while !!
On this last trip I brought a huge bag of cat nip toys for her little kitty Freda,I made 108 to be exact much to Freda's delight.I can't stand spending $5.00 on one little cat toy that I can make hundreds of for about $10.00.

Our family recently lost a dear friend, his name was Joel,a sweet gentle and kind young man he was only 34 years old.
He went to bed in his parents home one night while on vacation there after attending his Mom's retirement party and a wonderful Thanksgiving, fell asleep and never woke up.
He was fun to be around ,always had a ready smile, to us he was special.... he was Jojo, and he was our friend and more than that he was part of our family. He will be missed so much.

.
We will always remember you Joel.
One day we will see each other again, until then rest my friend you have earned it.
