This is a lovely remembrance post. Thank you!

I remember how the vets used to stand outside of a grocery store and sell the paper red poppies.
What a beautiful sea of red in that last photo. Yes, our veterans should have a day of respect and rest. And for the soldiers away from home at "war," may they be back with their families where they belong soon now.

A beautiful Remembrance Day post...indeed we must never forget those who died for us and those who are still fighting for us!! xoxo
Amen, Diane, well said! I hadn't read that poem since high school, funny I could still remember some of the lines! I love the buddy poppy, our Veterans of Foreign Wars groups pass them out here. I got one just the other day!

I grew up in the midwest and got a paper poppy every year - I'd forgotten about that until I read smilingsal's comment...
I miss that!
I too am very thankful for our veterans who protect our freedom <3
thanks, I had no idea why poppies symbolized this day!
Thanks for popping by the Shabby Art Boutique for a visit. I hope you will pop back soon. I enjoyed reading your blog and getting to know you. Glad to hear hubby is on the mend but as a fellow chocoholic I would be furious too!! LOL
