Its not much to look at yet but this is the beginning of a new quilt,I saw this pattern somewhere on the web and I fell in love with the pattern, its called Gramma's Garden.
Its been keeping my little fingers busy these last few days during the cold snap, and I get to use up those bits of material I have had forever.
Everyone has bits of pretty material hiding in boxes here and there, they cannot bear to throw out,I had started making yoyo's I have several hundred made but that was a few years ago and many projects ago, this appeals to me right now not the yoyo's.Sigh........
Do you know what I mean????

You will love that pattern for the quilt. I have a Grandmother's Garden quilt that I made about 30 years ago when my second daughter was born. You can see it at my blog, just click on the afghans, blankets, quilts quick link at the side.
hi! that is a beautiful start of a quilt:) thanks for entering my give-away!

It has always been one of my favorite quilt patterns.
That is going to be a beautiful quilt!
Such a pretty pattern; very old fashioned, so of course I love it! What did you ever do with the yoyo's? I had material ready, but never got the yoyo's made. At first I was planning a throw, then I scaled it down to a table runner, but never got anything done.
Oh that's going to be a beautiful quilt! Hope you show us your progress!
You are amazing! You're so handy with a needle and thread. That's going to be pretty. Stay warm.
I commend you on your dillegence and patience to do this! It will be wonderful! And you're making a quilt! now you're speaking my langugage! :) Happy sewing!!
Looks good so far!! You are more patient than I.
This is beautiful!! Thanks for the idea. I also have boxes of quilt fabric just waiting to be used.
I'm a grandma and have always had lots of flower gardens. This would be perfect for me to make. Do you sew it by hand or machine?
I started the grandmother's garden quilt (is that what it's called?) a long time ago. Can't recall where I lost the thing. Are you making yours with little pieces of paper in the shape and sewing through it, then tearing out the paper? That's how I recall doing it.

OH MY....that has to be sooooo much work. I can't even imagine how many countless hours it must take to put something that detailed together. I can't wait to see the finished product though. It is going to be spectacular!
