For days now I kept thinking about carrot cake, I saw a picture and a recipe in a magazine, and I could not get that picture and taste out of my head,I could smell it ,taste it and well ...........I could not stop thinking about it !! Does that happen to you??
We don't eat a lot of sweets here, if I made a dessert its along the lines of fruit crisp or maybe some banana muffins,I use to bake alllllllllll the time ,I especially like making pies,I learned from the Pastry Queen my MIL, that little woman could make pastry so light and flaky it would almost float I swear, her apple pie is~~~~ THE Best I have ever tasted anywhere bar none !!
So I learned from the best, but............ ((BUTT))yes ((BUTT)) that's where to pies go and no one can afford to eat like that anymore,so desserts are rare but once in a while you must give into your cravings.
And yesterday it was carrot cake... yes its cake but((BUTT)) it had about 2 cups of grated carrots in it so I figured it was like eating vegetables and it gave us fiber, that's how I rationalize making the carrot cake, did I make sense ?????
The house smelled deeeeeevine and we each has a piece with tea ,yummm !!
Now that's it till the next craving !! I hope I didn't give you THE CRAVE if I did I apologize in advance (HaHa)

please tell me you used cream cheese frosting because carrot cake is nothing without cream cheese frosting.
I've been known in my day to make a mean carrot cake. I use applesauce in place of the oil. oh crap I just gave away my secret!
Thanks for stopping by the WhistleStop Cafe! You are welcome to drop in for a cup of coffee anything~ bring that cake with you.

You are right -- sometimes it is worth the pounds. With all of those carrots, it can't be too bad!!
Loved your chickens. I, too, collect them. I think you will find that there are several of us out here that love them.
fiOhhh My Word... that cake looks good. I saw a recipe somewhere the other day for peanut butter and jelly cupcakes. These days though anything that says sweet I am wanting.
I would say that carrot cake is a very pardonable sin.
Hi Diane :)
Thank you so much for coming by!
I get cravings ALL the time. The women in our family will eat the same thing over and over until we get so sick of it that we don't want it again for a year LOL
Oh and yes, anything with vegetables in it makes up for anything bad in it ;)

Hi Diane, thank you for your interest in my blog! I love to visit old churches in order to find inspiration for my art.
Sometimes I move the carpets (If no-one's around!) to see what might be underneath. . . then I either photograph or rub the patterns I find and make a stencil or piece of embroidery.
But, what I need now is a piece of that carrot cake. I've been on a boring diet for weeks and I need it now!!!
Bye the way, those eggs are so pretty, I've never seen anything like that before. You must have very good eyes and a steady hand!
best wishes Annette.
Beeeeeeeeutiful!
Sometimes we have to give in to our cravings. Otherwise, they just hang around, and really over-take us! :-)
Btw, I took some photos of my husband's work-in-progress ~~ the totem pole he's carving for a friend. And I'll be putting them up, probably tomorrow.
My today's post is just devoted to sadness for "Big Brown." -sighhhhhhh-
