Life is not fair

Here is what's happened, as you all know last week my wonderful hubby had a diabetic seizure and it half scared me to death, but no permanent damage was done and today he is fine.
This morning my MIL who lives with us, had a diabetic seizure as well, once again the ambulance was called and zipped her away to the hospital, and she was out by 4 pm,tonight she is well, but all this is taking a toll on poor little me, I don't know how much more trauma's I can take.......
I am doing my best with both of them but its a lot on my shoulders.Does anyone know what I mean???
I am sorry and apologize in advance if I don't get to visit for a day or two

If it were me - I think I would be making myself crazy worrying about what they were eating and everything. Try not to take it all on your shoulders - you don't want to make yourself sick!! Try to have a moment to yourself now and then.

It's got to get better, right?

I do know what you mean.So many people rely on us so much of the time. And they seem to forget that we are only one person and that it might be nice if someone thinks of us once in awhile! But then I think if they never came to us and didn't need us how horrible that would be to not feel needed. So, I just think of how we are so blessed and some days are going to be trying but we will overcome. Have a blessed day!

You have certainly had way more than your share these last couple of weeks. I hope that is the end of it and you can start to relax again.

I'm so sorry you're having all this worry about the health of your loved ones right now. I hope the worst is over for now.

Gosh... Don't you wish Diabetes was something you could get well from???

I think I would bemaking sure a couple of loved ones do their testing a little more often. If I feel out of sorts in any way, I get my testing supplies out. Living 30 minutes from civilization, I feel the need not to let my diabetes bottom out on me and cause a seizure.

Hope things get better for you to take some of the ressure off. So many people think that diabetes doesn't effect those around them....How Wrong They Are!

I'd be pulling my hair out or screaming. You've had too much lately. Take it easy and try not to get too stressed. We don't want you getting sick too!!

When it rains,it pours. Hang in there, it will get better. Get rest, that will help as much as anything!

Don't you worry about us, we'll still be here when you have more time to blog. Your family comes first but I know what a toll that can take on a person. My mom suffers from depression and when it's really acting up, I'm forever bringing her back and forth to the hospital or clinic...I've actually gotten sick myself over it all so yes, I do understand what you're going through. As one doctor told me, don't take it all upon your shoulders, make sure you have time for YOU. xoxo

You certainly do have a lot on your shoulders. And it takes quite some time to recover from emergencies like that ourselves. That feeling of panic can hang on even after things are once again calm. Do please take care of yourself. Sending you hugs and all the positive energy I can collect.

I can't imagine the stress you must be under.
SOmetimes it's really hard to lift it all up to the Lord.
I pray things will get better and your excitement will be the 'fun' kind.

Ohhh...Diane, I am so sorry you are going through all this. You are an awesome caretaker for your family. You're right though, you are only one person and that is a lot to deal with all at once. You deserve a few days to yourself for sure. I hope you enjoy your downtime. Blessings...Susan

Bless your heart! I do know how you feel. Not to compare my cats to your hubby and MIL...but I have 2 diabetic cats, littermates now 14 years old. I have to draw blood on them and do their glucose curves every now and then. Have you ever tried drawing blood from a cat's front leg vein? It is very difficult sometimes. Not so bad if they cooperate, but that is not always the case. Those seizures are scary!!! I have to put mine in a carrier and drive 2 different interstates to get to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Then they keep them til midnight or so and I go back and get them. Diabetes is a serious disease....and can be very frightening at times. I do hope they both are doing better now. All you can do is take it one day at a time...try not to get stressed out. Take care of YOU, too!
