No Stiletto for me!

I wont be wearing these babies any time soon!
Yesterday I went to my doctor and I was asking for prescription refills and I was mentioning that sometimes I get waves of unbalance and I thought it was my inner ear, he asked me to take off my shoes and socks......(( I know...what's my feet got to do with my head??))
He asked me to not peek and was touching my feet with a qtip well my right foot has no feeling what so ever because of surgery as a child,he told me my dizziness was from the lack of feeling and it affects my balance... makes sense, but since I have no feeling in that foot I watch it closely I have been known to walk on thumb tacks and not know it ,he looked at the big toe and said I am taking that nail off right now................YIKES ~~~~~ GASP........ ohhhh I felt faint let me tell you !!!
He makes me lay down and took off the nail,THANK THE GOOD LORD I have no feeling in that foot,I left with a monster bandaid on my toe and well for a foot that had no feeling I sure as heck felt it burn afterwards.
So dear ladies just to let you know not to worry I will live but I will not be on here a lot for a few days,I must put my foot up because I sure can FEEL IT NOW!!!
PS~~~ I can't wear stiletto's to save my life I would fall off of them and break my fool neck!

Well, if all you've lost is a toenail and the chance to wear stilettos, you are doing well. I wore crap like that for YEARS when I worked in Dallas and HAD to dress the part for work. I don't even own a pair of high heels anymore. I have one nice pair of low pumps for dressy things (funerals and weddings). Other than that, I told hubby I will not go anywhere that I can't wear clogs, moccasins, or sneakers! I love getting older, I can get away with stuff like that I wouldn't have done 10 years ago!

Forget my feet, my legs no longer look good in Stiletto's. Not that I probably coun't keep my balance in them either!
Have a quick recovery!

I couldn't walk in a heel that high in my prime. :-)

Wouldn't wear the foolish things if someone paid me. Sarah Palin can have the lot of them. Don't know why women think so little of their feet, which are their main form of transportation, that they torture them so. Hope you feel better soon.

It sounds to me as if you have peripheral neuropathy. That's what I have, and I have no feeling from a little below my knee on down. It wouldn't hurt me to have a toenail removed either. So I guess it's a condition that's BAD with GOOD side effects!

Oh dear, I felt faint just reading what you went through! lol I had an ingrown toe nail removed when I was in my early 30's and to this day I still remember the pain of it all. I never would have thought that having no feeling in a foot would affect the balance and cause dizziness...as you say, makes sense now! lol Take it easy and get lots of rest! xoxo

Why did the doctor remove your toenail? I am a barefoot gal myself....hate shoes! LOVE to buy them, but never wear shoes in the house. Even in summertime, I buy the thong type sandals...the less, the better for me! LOL

Hope your toenail grows back quickly for you!
