Excuse me Mam are you a senior??

Here is a funny story for everyone..... sure gave me a chuckle!!

Today I went to Shoppers Drug Mart to drop off a new prescription and pick up a few things, when I got to the cash register the little cashier said (((Excuse me Mam are you over 55 ?? Are you a senior???)))

Well I had to smile when she said that... being a little clueless I asked her why she was asking? I thought to myself..... Wow last time I checked I didn't feel like a senior...................... I felt like a tweenior!!! LOL!!!!
But this sweet(( YOUNG ))thing went on to explain to me that if I was 55 and over I qualified for the promotion and it was~~~~ Senior Day Today~~~~~!!!!!!
Seeing that no one was standing near me I felt I could tell the truth, so I said yes I am a little but over 55((Hand over mouth mumbling the real number...))
She proceeded to put through my order and give me a $10.00 gift certificate , well Hello my name is Ms Senior to you !!
For a free gift certificate you can call me that anytime.......LOL!!!

Well, there are SOME advantages to being over 55. And how flattering that she didn't just ASSUME you were a senior.

The first time anyone (also a young clerk) asked me, my friend had to hold me back to keep me from grabbing him by the neck and choking the little shit! Never mind the discount, I was NOT 55!

Well shoot, I won't be 55 till next August. They'll probably outlaw promotional discounts by then. :-)What a great day, huh?

Those young ones wouldn't know a senior from someone just past 30 so don't feel bad. I'm telling you that because I'm preparing for when it happens to me! I don't want to be shocked!

Oh, hey, I got over that age stuff long ago when I discovered all of these senior discounts. They can call me senior all they want if they just keep giving me $$. ;-)

Hi Diane,
Oy! To some of those young kids, anyone over 35 is a senior. LOL

My hubby just laughs when a waiter or waitress calls me mam. But hey, at least you got 10 bucks out of it.

We "Seniors" have to think of the good things about getting older don't we. I'd rather be asked thougth than have someone assume I'm over 55.

Such a great story! Because hubby and I both went quite white-headed before the age of 50, we were often asked if we were seniors, and we =always= said yes! Hey, discount is discount. :) I love my age.
