Thumbs Up!!!

I really hate to give you a recipe without first having tried it, yesterday I gave you all the Pumpkin Butter recipe ,but I had not tried it yet,but this morning on our 12 grain toast it was soooooo good yummmmm, like having pumpkin pie on toast, wow I was impressed with this recipe I can tell you I will be making this often at my house!!!!
I read about a fellow blogger who went for afternoon tea somewhere, and she was served Maple Pumpkin Butter, I thought wow I must find a recipe for that, of course that's never far away online a little research and voila... ..I always chose a recipe that is simple they are usually the best. This one is a winner !!!

I want to show you my future avocado tree!!! ....Are you laughing ? ......Did I see a smirk ?.... Did you just roll your eyes??????
Go ahead smile its ok....... this is an avocado pit that was the part of the most delicious salsa. After we eat it ,I stuck toothpicks in it and added water to a small jam jar and I sat the avocado pit on top its been sitting there for about 2 weeks ,I add water every now and again to top it off, and today low and behold something is trying to grow!!! If you look inside that pit you can see it germinating!!! I am so excited !!.......OK I know I please very easily....
Well if your happy and you know it then show it!!! So here it is and I will keep you posted LOL!!!

I love the avocado! I do that ALL summer long, with everything I eat that has a seed or pit! Lot's of things don't sprout, but every now and them I get a pleasant surprise. I have a mango "tree" that's about
6" tall that I started that way this summer!

I love guacamole made with avocados. This may be a good project to do with the grandkids.

My mom used to always grown put her avocado seeds in water just like that. She would then have a lovely plant in her kitchen window.

I always read you could do that with an avocado, but never tried it or saw it myself. How cool!

I've done this before, but I did not plant it. I think it's supposed to take two years before you get fruit.

I used to do that when my kids were "kids". I was a lot of fun. Have you ever tried a pineapple? Thank you so much for stopping bye today. I love new guests and I love your blog. I'll be back often.

I've never tried pumpkin butter, but have made apple butter, pear butter and plum butter. All are spicy and sweet. I do like pumpkin pie so i should give this pumpkin butter a try.
I have grown Avacado trees the same way. I had to keep them indoors though as we are in the wrong zone to plant them outside. Mine never got fruit but it's always fun to watch the miracle of life through a seed that germinates and grows into a lovely green living plant.
I have some orange trees growing on my window sill right now.

I have a friend who has several large avacado trees from seeds. She hasn't had any fruit yet but heard that they need to be grafted in order to get fruit. Good luck with yours. It is fun to see them grow.

Glad the pumpkin butter was so good.

Hi Diane, now that avocado germinating is fascinating. I hope you are going to keep us update on its progress! In New Zealand we don't do much with pumpkin, roast it, use it quiche, frittata, soup etc. Not butter, pie and stuff!!!!! Thanks for your visits and lovely comments:) Rachaelxo

I have one in my window sill too, lol !! Only it needs to be planted so bad. its little roots are choking. :) I got the best Pumpkin Cookie recipe from Emeril on the food channel . It was the best of Christmas cookies the year before last. Tasted like pumpkin pie. I am not a Pumpkin eater but my family loved them and make me make them ever since. He also had a TDF Almond Rocha cookie. Now, that one I will eat and ate too many last year !! lol !! I will have to make the pumpkin butter , it looks good !! :)

I remember doing that with avocado seeds when I was a kid. It really is fun when the first leaves begin to appear.

I love avocados and would certainly love to have an avocado tree. But I don't think I am in the right growing zone. Still, I think I will try to get one to sprout. I think my grandaughter would enjoy this as an experiment!
Thanks for the idea! Tina

I remember that was very popular to do in the seventies. Or maybe I just learned to do it then! I will have to look in the fridge. I seem to remember buying an avocado recently... Uh-oh, no telling how long that was! I'd better start digging it out!
