ABC'S of HOMEMAKING.......



A ~Aprons--y/n If y, what does your fav. look like?
My favourite one is a canvas material and all bright stripes I got it from Martha when I sent for a subscription.

B ~ Baking--Favorite thing to bake?
I love making pies , any kid of pie, I have been told they are quite yummy! Got the recipe from the pastry queen my MIL !!

C ~ Clothes line?
I have one and I do use it a lot.

D ~ Donuts--Have you ever made them?
I have made them a long time ago but we don't indulge in things like that very often, plus Tim Horton's is only a few blocks away.

E ~ Everyday--One homemaking thing you do everyday?
I do dishes many many times a day.You could eat out of my kitchen sink its squeeky clean!

F ~ Freezer--Do you have a separate deep freeze?
Yes, I have a chest freezer, its so full I could not put a loaf of bread in there right now

G ~ Garbage Disposer?
Nope, my hubby has that title !! LOL!!(( I don't do windows either)))

H ~ Handbook--What is your favorite homemaking resource?
I incorporate my life's experience, plus I remember every piece of advice my mother ever gave me.

I ~ Ironing--Love it or Hate it? Or hate it but love the results?
There was a time I even ironed tea towels but those days are long gone, I use to enjoy ironing, found it relaxing.

J ~ Junk Drawer--y/n? Where is it?
The proverbial junk drawer...... yes I do have one, its more my hubby's than mine, its a catch all for stay elastics, batteries,scissors, glue,etc...(( and God know's what towards the back!!)Its in the kitchen of course.

K ~ Kitchen--color and decorating scheme.
Pale pale green, with goldish backsplash ( I want a new one like yesterday its on my honeydo list),white sheer curtains with maple window shutters.

L ~ Love--what is your favorite part of homemaking?
I want everyone who enters my home to feel at home, I try to convey that feeling.Must be working because most who come here are hungry and leave full.

M ~ Mop--y/n?
I have a mop and a swiffer, I do both and I sweep a lot too.For 4 adults its remarkable how often it needs it

N ~ Nylons, machine or hand wash?
Very rarely do I wear those ..I need an occasion... then it goes in the washer

O ~ Oven--do you use the window or open the oven to check?
Cakes, wouldn't dream of it, otherwise I will take a peek.

P ~ Pizza--What do you put on yours?
Its not a pizza to me unless it has green peppers and pepperoni on it.Nothing too weird.

Q ~ Quiet--What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
I sit in front of my computer and catch up.On a good day I get to craft.

R ~ Recipe Card Box--y/n? What does it look like?
I have 2 binders that are threatening to explode, its so much easier that way,I made my kids each one of their favourite family recipes,I put my heart into making those for them.I even included photos of the family member who's recipe it came from and a bit of the recipe story as well.

S ~ Style of house--What style is your house?
One story house, with full basement, 3 bedroom, wishing it were 4, huge yard corner lot .w Its a white house.

T ~Tablecloths or Place mats?
Tablecloth, its one my mother gave me an oilcloth tablecloth its raggady but I haven't the heart to change it simply because she gave it to me,I may re-line my drawers with it so I will have it a little longer.

U ~ Under the kitchen sink--organized or toxic wasteland?
I can find anything I need quickly its full of cleaning products.

V ~ Vacuum--How many times per week?
At least once or twice a week, I want hard wood floors.... its on my wish list.

W ~ Wash--How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
I do a load at least 2-3 times a week ,I can't stand to let it get mountainous

X's--Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
I use to when I worked, I had to use the list method, otherwise I only do that when its going to be a busy day.

Y ~ Yard--y/n? Who does what?
My hubby use to, but since his heart attack we hire help, its a huge corner lot, doing the grass is an event.

ZZZ's ~ what is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
Put night lights on,lock the doors.

Thes looks like fun an something to get your brain working too. If I find time I may do it too.
I enjoyed reading your answers. Of course when I read that you have and use a clothesline it made me want one too.

Memes are a fun way to learn a bit more about our blogging friends. I smiled at the "bulging binders" of recipes. I have recipes in binders, boxes and on the computer.
