The Good Old Days !!!!

Check out the prices !!
I was only 6 when this menu was available ,but I do remember going with my Aunt Sue having a coke, what a thrill that was,in my little town back then the restaurants were few and far between, this was the week before Christmas in the evening on a Thursday the stores stayed open late till 9 only ,one day a week ....((LOL the good old days)) and we were window shopping looking at shiny pretty Christmas things and Aunt Sue suggested we stop at Woolworth for a coke ,wow did I ever feel grown up ,Mom had given me 25 cents to splurge on something so I was able to pay for my own treat, that in itself was a treat.

My Aunt Sue is 4 years older than I am, we were always close.Today Sue is wife and mother of 4 big strapping boys and no daughters, Sue is also a Grandmother of 4 of the cutest little girls.I wish she lived closer to me I really miss her.The picture above I am 8 and Sue is 12.
Here I am 2 and she is 6.Sue was the last child born to my Grandparents,my dad was 21 when she was born......YUP!!

A piece of pie for .15 cents. My local family-style restaurant sells it for 2.50 a piece and I bet the .15 cent piece was homemade and tasted better. Those were the days.......

She reminds me of Drew Barrymore, the actress! She has the same semi-smile!

OH, THAT IS SO SWEET, TO HAVE HER TO BE CLOSE TOO. I LOVE WOOLWORTH'S...I USED TO LOVE TO GO THERE ON SATURDAYS. MY DAD WOULD TAKE ME AND MY SISTER TO A MOVIE AND THEN TO WOOLWORTHS FOR LUNCH, AND SOMETIMES HE'S BUY US A GIFT. I LOVED THEIR BLUE WALTZ PERFUME AND THE LITTLE SILVER DISK HEART NECKLACES. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES! COME SAY HI :D

Wow, this post really brought back some great memories for me!!
I remember sitting at the counter with my mother drinking a cherry Coke, and then going to the toy aisle and buying little pieces of furniture for my little doll house.
The prices are amazing......

I love the pictures you posted... so sweet.

I loved going to Woolworth's with my grandmother. We would ride the bus from our small town to the larger city and they had Woolworth's and Roses' and both had lunch counters. My favorite was Woolworth's and I can still smell the wonderful food. I guess it was good or was just that it was a treat to ride the bus to the big "City" with my grandmother.
Happy Valentine's Day
Love,
Marie
