Something Out There is on Sale !!!!!!!!!

My darling hubby came home from grocery shopping, yes ladies he does that and loves it!!(Were both retired young aren't we lucky)
He loves bargain hunting, and he will on occasions come home with ohhhh lets say 2 cases of canned tomatoes because they were on sale, or 10 pounds of ground beef because it was lean (((((and on sale)))))Or maybe 6 or 7 bunches of bananas~~~~ same reason !!

I never know when he leaves the house what on earth he will bring home. When he is gone for a longer period of time I cringe, because I know something was on sale!!!And in this house lives my hubby, myself my son and my mother in law, ~~~~~~~(((not an army of hungry men.)))

Yesterday he came home with berries because~~~~~~~come on let's say it all together!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((( They were on sale !!!!!)))
The deal was 3 pints assorted berries for $5.00.
He had 6 blueberries, 3 raspberries,3 black berries,3 strawberries !!!!

That's a lot of berries agreed???......So we have been eating them out of hand and in a fruit salad as well,I was going to make a nice pie, but were are trying so hard to be good with desserts, so I decided to make a fruit crisp, and to that mix I added some rhubarb because I had some to use up.And of course nutritious oatmeal goes on top with a smidge of dark brown sugar........ok maybe a small dollop of butter but I swear it wasent a big one.((hehehe))

These are the pictures your looking at right now, and the ice cream is even sugar free,so you see dessert dosent have to hurt to be sooo good,I hardly missed the chocolate icing...((hehe))
He is getting ready to go shopping ladies...................... pray that nothing is on sale !!!

That so reminds me of my ex-father-in-law that man buys food like he's feeding an army, it's just his wife and two disabled daughters living at home. Silly ole man!

Here's a funny story for you:
Back when I'd first gotten married the father in law would take us to town to go shopping every Thursday, we didn't have a car then. He grumbled and complained that we didn't buy enough, so the next week we bought a lot. He grumbled and complained that we'd bought too much! Lol
Silly ole men!

Your fruit crisp looks delicious! My husband does a lot of the grocery shopping too. He isn't so much about what is on sale but he thinks he's the coupon king. He drives me crazy. :)

Oh yummmmm, that fruit crisp sure looks good and hardly no calories! hehe Who can resist such a good sale?? Whenever I go shopping for groceries, I'll always buy 2-3 of certain items if they're on sale...then we get completely sick of it! lol xoxo

Thanks for the comments! Your berry crisp sounds Wonderful! My great-grandmother used to make them all the time, but she never wrote down her recipe. I've tried several from my cook books, but it never tastes as good! I'll just dream of yours!

My hubby goes grocery shopping with me or if I'm not feeling like going, he goes for me. He's a sweetheart. Sounds like yours is a sweetheart too.

Glorious photos, and glorious to get fruit - 'on sale'! :-)

My husband shops with me and he is the Chef, since semi-retiring. He loves it and I never did... Regular cooking I mean.

Please have a lovely Midsummer Night's Eve.
